This week, we’re taking a mid-season break from the Portrait Session podcast and instead presenting you with a bonus episode of Off the Cuff with Ali. The event took place a couple weeks ago as part of the Reigning Men exhibition at the Museum of Applied Arts and Sciences in Sydney. With an audience of over 40 guests, Ali brought his column in MITT issue 9 to life, as he looked at prominent movements in art and fashion, exploring how they affected one another, and continue to shape our contemporary imagination.
A Class in Classics
OFF THE CUFF WITH ALI
This podcast is the first in a new series called Off The Cuff with Ali, based off of Ali Asghar Shah’s new column in MITT magazine. A month after a new issue is released, we will host a book club of sorts at the Men In This Town HQ at Fine Fellow, where Ali will lead a discussion revolving around the topic he wrote about. In issue 7, he delved into the world of classic menswear in a ‘A Class in Classics’. During the live discussion, he explored what classic menswear is, their brief history, what gives them their elusive status, and whether we have exhausted them. Have a listen and if you want to read Ali’s full piece, you can pick-up a copy of MITT magazine issue 7 now or subscribe to make sure you don't miss a future issue.
Collaborations
MITT STUDIO TALKS
This month’s MITT Studio Talks focused on the art of collaboration. Clara Ho from Burton Metal Depository and I shared our story along with Tom Fereday and Leighton Clarke of Mister Wolf. Hope you enjoy the talk.
Custom Made
MITT STUDIO TALKS
We celebrated the opening of The MITT Mrkt. Pop-Up in Sydney last month with our fourth MITT Studio Talks. We asked the guys from Citizen Wolf (custom tees), Luxe Wares (custom wallets) and Oscar Hunt Tailors to join in on the discussion of, you guessed it, custom made goods and what it means in this day and age.

Celebrating MITT Issue 4
MITT STUDIO TALKS
We celebrated MITT magazine issue 4 a couple weeks ago with our second MITT Studio Talks over at Kit and Ace in Surry Hills. It was the first time we recorded the session so we thought we would make it available as a little podcast. The plan is to record all future talks, which will run once a month when we move into The MITT Mrkt. on Foley Street in July. So if you’re not Sydney based, don’t fret, you won’t miss out!
If you head over to the podcast section, you’ll also find previous Portrait Sessions all grouped together for your convenience. You can also subscribe on SoundCloud or iTunes.
Hope you enjoy this one in the meantime!
